Where to find itFont › Character

The OpenType controls show the features actually supplied by the current font. These include ligatures, figure styles, titling alternates, stylistic sets and character variants. In book production, you can choose tabular figures for numeric columns and other figure forms for body text. The preview helps you compare the available forms before deciding. You apply features to selected text and can keep them in character or paragraph styles. A font without a particular feature does not offer its variants.

How to do it

  1. Select the text you want to edit.
  2. Open Window › Text › Paragraph & Character.
  3. Open OpenType, compare the preview and select the required feature.
