Where to find itFont › Variable font on text
Variable fonts carry several adjustable axes in a single font file. Medusa provides handles directly on the text for width, weight, slant and optical size where the font supplies those axes. Further axes appear as draggable tabs. For a magazine headline, you can adjust width while judging weight without searching for another style. You save useful settings under a name and can also store axis values in styles. Automatic optical size sets the corresponding axis according to the type size.
How to do it
- Select the text you want to edit.
- Apply a variable font to the text.
- Choose Font › Variable font on text.
- Drag the available axis handles and check the composition.
Tips
- Save established axis values in a style when several headings should match.
Limits
Only axes contained in the selected font file are available.
