Where to find itView › Outline (⌘Y)

Outline view shows all objects as fine outlines. Fills and image contents no longer obscure the frames behind them. On a crowded magazine page, you can find a hidden text frame and select its outline. The same command returns you to the normal display. Outline view changes only the screen display and leaves the PDF untouched.

How to do it

  1. Choose View › Outline or press ⌘Y.
  2. Click the outline of the frame you need.
  3. Turn Outline off again to inspect the result.
