Where to find itFont › Paragraph
You control text flow with break characters and rules that keep related paragraphs together. A break can lead to the next column, next frame or next even or odd page. In a book, you can place a chapter opening on the correct page and keep a heading with its following paragraph. Widow and orphan controls prevent unwanted isolated lines at column boundaries. For magazine headings, you can span a paragraph across columns or split a column for it. These rules also determine composition in output.
How to do it
- Select the text you want to edit.
- Open Window › Text › Paragraph & Character.
- Set the rules for related lines and paragraphs in Break.
- If needed, insert a specific break through Font › Insert break character.
