Where to find itEdit › Find and replace … · ⌘F
You search for text, styles or fonts and replace matches selectively. GREP adds patterns and back references, for example for phone numbers written in different ways in a directory. Presets help with recurring tasks such as double spaces or dates. Several replacements can be saved as a sequence for the next edition. The typography cleanup command corrects double spaces, ellipses and dashes in one step. Check individual matches before applying a replacement to the entire text.
How to do it
- Open Edit › Find and replace …
- Enable GREP if needed, or open the style and font criteria through Format.
- Enter the search value and replacement and inspect a match.
- Replace the required matches or save the search as a sequence.
Tips
- ⌘F opens Find and Replace.
