Linked sources

tables and texts from Excel, CSV, Word and Google Sheets stay connected, two-way if you like, with write-back

Where to find itWindow › Links

You place Excel or CSV tables and Word text as linked content or connect a Google Sheets address. For a recurring annual report, you can refresh source data and review changes. For Word, Medusa can keep its stored copy updated, while Excel and CSV provide a change list for applying to the original. Medusa reads Google Sheets as a source, and formula cells survive linked-table refreshes.

How to do it

  1. Place an Excel, CSV or Word file through «File» › «Place …».
  2. Open «Window» › «Links».
  3. Check the source and refresh the linked content.
  4. Review changes before output.

Limits

Google Sheets cannot be written from here; Excel and CSV use a change list for applying edits to the original.
