Where to find itFile › Version history …
You save a document state under your own name and find it again in version history. Before the final proofing round of a book, you can record the version sent to the copy editor. Comparison with the current document shows text changes word by word, together with new, removed or changed objects and pages. Clicking a finding takes you to the location concerned. Restoring returns the shared document to the chosen state, so this action affects everyone working on it.
How to do it
- Open File › Version history …
- Name the current state and click Save.
- Click Compare for a saved version.
- Click a finding to jump to the page.
Tips
- Save a named version before a major proofing round.
Limits
You cannot restore a version while a page is approved and locked.
