Where to find itLayout › Parent pages
You base parent pages on one another and can link parents from another document. For a magazine, you can combine a basic grid, section heading and folio as several parents on the same page. The order of assigned parents determines stacking order, and individual parent items can be hidden per page. A linked parent is stored as a copy in the document, so PDF output and packaging do not require the source.
How to do it
- Open «Layout» › «Parent pages».
- Choose «Link parent page from another document …» for an external parent.
- Assign the required parents in the pages panel.
- Hide exceptions under «Master objects on this page».
Tips
- Hold ⌥ to add another parent page.
