You can open a Word file directly from the start page as a new document. Headings become paragraph styles that you can develop in the layout. The entry point for people moving from Microsoft Publisher offers this route alongside opening a PDF. For an association magazine, you can start with the manuscript you already have. You then continue in the editor with the resulting text frames and styles.

How to do it

  1. Open the start page.
  2. Click Open Word file.
  3. Select the Word file and check the paragraph styles created.
