Bilingual catalogues

an output language picks “Name_fr” and sets numbers and amounts its own way

Example document in the program showing the effect of “Bilingual catalogues”

Where to find itData › Data merge

You choose an output language for data merge, tiles or flowing lists. In a bilingual catalogue, a placeholder such as “<<Name>>” then uses the “Name_fr” column for French output. Numbers and amounts follow the selected language, and matching language conditions can switch fixed text too. Empty translations are reported, and you duplicate the document and change the output language for separate catalogue editions.

How to do it

  1. Load a list with base fields and language columns such as “Name_fr”.
  2. Open «Data» › «Data merge» and choose «Output language».
  3. Check translated values and numbers in the preview.
  4. Duplicate the document for another language edition.
